Find the target cam sensor trigger position before TDC on cylinder #1's compression stroke.

Use the exact Ignition Reference Angle shown under Crank Sensor Setup in the Holley software.

Compression stroke only. The cam pulse must occur before cylinder #1 reaches TDC on its compression stroke—not its exhaust stroke.

Recommended trigger position

IDEAL195.0°BTDC #10° / TDC
Acceptable window (±30°)

Acceptable range

165.0°–225.0°

Allowed variation

Angle between crank pulses (A): 90.0°

Based on Holley's crank/cam sensor installation guidance. If the trigger cannot be installed within this range, or your setup falls outside these assumptions, contact Holley Tech Service before changing firing order or wiring.
